the first thing i ever saw pre-pupation was a gorgeous jadeblood. then, a bright flash of light split my entire world apart, and i never saw her ever again.

i never did figure out what that light meant. but from the jadeblood's reaction of pure horror, it couldn't have been good.

after that, it was nothing but pitch black for a little bit, but i could tell i was still alive. using the few instincts built into me at that point, i searched for a place to spin my cocoon.
